✧˖°About Baan Kang Wat

Baan Kang Wat is a craft community and living art village in Chiang Mai, formed by more than 30 artisans working and living together. The community brings together creators from diverse fields, including painting, sculpture, embroidery, fabric dyeing, bookbinding, basketry, leatherwork, and other handmade disciplines.

Baan Kang Wat welcomes visitors to explore craft studios, shop handmade works, join workshops and D.I.Y. activities, enjoy food and drinks, and experience a creative environment rooted in collaboration and shared values. The community emphasizes cooperation among artisans and invites visitors to better understand the value of handcraft through learning, observing, and hands-on participation.

SawasdeeCraft #7: Color of Myself takes place at Baan Kang Wat from December 26, 2025 to January 4, 2026, operating daily from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a special opening day on Monday, December 29, 2025.

This year’s seventh edition extends over ten days, making it one of the longest-running SawasdeeCraft events to date. The festival presents a wide range of craft-related activities and creative showcases within the village throughout the event period.

Festival Atmosphere and Visual Theme ✶⋆.˚

The theme Color of Myself is reflected across the event space through colorful visual elements and installations placed throughout Baan Kang Wat. Large fabric pieces in different colors are arranged across the village, creating a lively atmosphere that moves naturally with the surrounding environment.

The event visuals build on previous editions while introducing brighter and more diverse color tones, giving the village a refreshed look during the festival period.

100 Craft Brands and Creative Gathering ˖᯽ ݁˖

During SawasdeeCraft #7, more than 100 brands—including resident artists and visiting creators—gather at Baan Kang Wat. The event brings together a wide variety of handmade products and creative works, offering visitors the opportunity to explore different styles and forms of craftsmanship in one location.

For visitors interested in handmade goods and creative products, the festival provides a concentrated experience of Chiang Mai’s craft scene during the year-end season.

Zone (B): Sawasdee Popup & Exhibition ˖₊⊹

A key highlight of the event is Zone (B): Sawasdee Popup & Exhibition, featuring works created by artists from Baan Kang Wat specifically for this edition. The popup and exhibition present newly produced pieces that encourage artists to explore new directions and creative possibilities.

Visitors are invited to view and purchase works from this zone throughout the event period, available only until January 4, 2026.

Activities Included with Entry Ticket °˖➴

  • A1: Receive one free frozen ice pop
  • A2: Create colorful laminated plastic artwork and take it home as a souvenir
  • A3: Paint freely on walls and art boards
  • A4: Join a crossword-style word game and receive rewards

These activities are designed to offer interactive experiences alongside the craft market and exhibition areas.
