How does POPUPASIA® connect Daxi’s cultural heritage with
Chiang Mai’s creative life through meaningful, on-site exchange?
About POPUPASIA®

POPUPASIA® × Taoyuan City Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum:
A Cultural Journey into Chiang Mai ⟢
From December 11 to 15, POPUPASIA® sincerely thanks the Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum team for their trust, and expresses deep appreciation to our Chiang Mai local partners for their support throughout the journey. From guided tours and transportation to the detailed coordination of daily schedules, every part of the visit was carefully arranged, allowing the program to proceed smoothly.
This visit made it possible to guide Taiwanese cultural partners into Chiang Mai Design Week, while also engaging in in-depth exchanges with multiple local organizations and institutions. For POPUPASIA®, being able to accompany Taiwan-based teams through these experiences was both meaningful and personally valuable.

Walking Through Chiang Mai’s Craft, Design, and Urban Culture ☆
During the itinerary, the delegation visited and exchanged with a range of organizations and locations, including Torboon and the Head of the Architecture Department at Chiang Mai University, as well as CEA, CTRD, Jing Jai Market, Baan Kang Wat, TCDC Chiang Mai, and Sanpakoi.
Each stop helped the Taiwanese team better understand how Chiang Mai has accumulated and practiced its approaches to craft, design, and urban culture over time. Through these visits, the team gained a closer view of how creative work is rooted in local context and everyday life.

⋆˙⟡ POPUPASIA® as a Cultural Connector of the Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum
Chiang Mai is a city POPUPASIA® has visited many times over the years. With each return, the understanding of the city continues to deepen—meeting new people, entering new neighborhoods, and discovering new perspectives within familiar surroundings.
This time, taking on the role of guiding Taiwanese cultural partners through Chiang Mai marked an important turning point. Accompanying partners into the city with a different responsibility made the experience especially significant, both personally and professionally.
Looking ahead, POPUPASIA® hopes to continue accumulating this kind of guiding experience, strengthen language abilities, and build more everyday, life-based conversations with the city and its people.
