From Japan to Singapore, POPUPASIA® continues to expand its creative footprint across Asia — bringing handmade culture into new horizons.
Introducing POPUPASIA®
Founded in Taiwan, POPUPASIA Handcrafted & Lifestyle Expo (POPUPASIA 手創暨生活展) has been dedicated to connecting Asia’s handmade, design, and lifestyle communities since 2016.
With its mission — “Turn what you love into life” — POPUPASIA has become one of Asia’s most influential creative platforms, gathering independent creators, cultural brands, and buyers from across the region. Through exhibitions, cross-market collaborations, and online initiatives, POPUPASIA continues to build a bridge that links Asian craftsmanship with global audiences.
After successfully establishing itself in Japan, POPUPASIA® has reached another milestone — the official Singapore trademark registration. This marks an important step toward building stronger bridges for Asian handmade and creative brands in Southeast Asia.

Singapore: A Thriving Hub for Design, Business, and Cross-Cultural Exchange ⟡
Known as one of Asia’s most vibrant and forward-thinking economies, Singapore has long been a gateway for international trade and innovation. Supported by the DesignSingapore Council and the SG Arts Plan 2023–2027, the city has cultivated a culture that embraces experimentation, cultural exchange, and business collaboration.
Events such as Public Garden, Boutique Fairs Singapore, and MAAD (Market of Artists and Designers) show how the country celebrates originality and storytelling. Singapore’s market values not only functionality but also the emotions and stories behind each product — a perfect match for POPUPASIA’s handmade philosophy.

The Singapore Market: A Gateway to Southeast Asia
Singapore’s position at the crossroads of Asia gives it a unique advantage — it is a small market domestically but a powerful regional connector. Many international buyers, distributors, and retailers use Singapore as a base to reach nearby countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
This makes Singapore an ideal platform for Taiwanese and Asian brands to test new products, build partnerships, and explore wider markets. With English as its working language and a multicultural environment that embraces diversity, the city naturally bridges Asian creativity with global audiences.

𖦹 Why POPUPASIA is Entering the Singapore Market
Since 2007, POPUPASIA has supported countless Asian makers and brands through exhibitions, cross-market collaborations, and curated experiences. Now, after years of focusing on Greater China and Japan, the team is ready to explore Singapore as a new market — a place that shares POPUPASIA’s values of authenticity, diversity, and creativity.
By entering Singapore, POPUPASIA aims to:
- Create a platform for Taiwanese and Asian creators to showcase their work in a regional business hub.
- Facilitate B2B matchmaking between creators and local retailers, distributors, and design buyers.
- Build opportunities for cultural and commercial exchange that highlight the richness of Asian craftsmanship.

POPUPASIA’s Past Connection with Singapore
Although POPUPASIA has not hosted a physical event in Singapore in recent years, its connection with the city goes back more than a decade.
In 2007, POPUPASIA first brought a group of Taiwanese handmade brands to Singapore for a cultural exchange showcase. The experience left a deep impression on both the creators and local audiences, showing that Singaporeans value creativity, design thinking, and authentic craftsmanship.
Now, with stronger brand recognition and official trademark certification, POPUPASIA is returning to Singapore with renewed vision and long-term plans for collaboration.

Future Vision — From POPUPASIA to POPUPSINGAPORE®
The official Singapore trademark certification strengthens POPUPASIA’s foundation for international expansion. Under the upcoming initiative POPUPSINGAPORE®, the team plans to organize cross-regional exhibitions, brand collaborations, and community projects that unite Asian creators with Singapore’s design scene.
POPUPSINGAPORE® will focus on three directions:
- Showcase — Hosting curated handmade and lifestyle events that bring together creators from Taiwan, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
- Collaborate — Partnering with local creative organizations, malls, and design institutions.
- Connect — Building bridges between B2B buyers and B2C communities, allowing creators to reach both commercial and cultural goals.
Through these efforts, POPUPASIA hopes to make Singapore not only a new market, but also a creative hub where Asian handmade and lifestyle culture flourish together.

Looking Ahead ➻
As POPUPASIA continues its mission to empower creators and promote authentic living, Singapore marks a new beginning — a city where creativity meets opportunity.
The expansion is not just about entering a market; it’s about creating a shared space for stories, craftsmanship, and cross-cultural growth across Asia.
